Bringing the Ocean to Your Classroom!
In 2019, Plymouth Sound became the UK’s first National Marine Park, and since then, we’ve been helping schools across Plymouth and Torbay connect with their local blue spaces through the Climate Roadshow.
Thanks to generous Edina Trust funding, our first round of the Climate Roadshow reached 25 schools across Plymouth and Torbay. This latest round allowed us to expand even further – visiting 47 schools and connecting thousands more students with their local blue spaces and the importance of protecting our Ocean.
Together, we’ve explored climate change, discovered superhero seagrass, and inspired the next generation of Climate Heroes.

What We Achieved this year:
- 1780 students became Energy Investigators through hands-on science workshops
- 5442 students attended our Climate Heroes Shows, learning how everyday actions can protect our Ocean
- Free CPD sessions delivered to teachers to keep the learning going
From jaw-dropping combustion demonstrations to superhero seagrass, every session helped local pupils see how their small actions can help protect the planet.

Keep the Learning Going: Free CPD Recordings for Teachers
Our free CPD sessions are still available for teachers to revisit anytime. These practical sessions help you bring Ocean and climate education into your classroom:
Thank you to every school, teacher, and student who took part in the Climate Roadshow. We will take the lessons learnt on this project, and hope to expand on it, to continue inspiring a legacy of Ocean advocates.
